Pontiac Tower Letter to Airmen: LTA-PTK-10

Subject: Airfield Construction

Cancellation: 10/01/2026 1200 (UTC)

This letter advises Airmen that Oakland County International Airport (PTK) will conduct a multi-phase taxiway construction project during the spring and summer of 2026. This project will require the closure of multiple taxiways and associated ramp access points, resulting in significant changes to normal ground operations.

During the effective period, the following airfield areas will be closed to aircraft operations unless otherwise authorized by NOTAM:

  • Taxiway Delta (TWY D), including all associated turnoff points north of Runway 09L/27R
  • All associated T-Hangar entrances connected to Taxiway Delta
  • Taxiway Yankee (TWY Y)
  • Taxiway Foxtrot (TWY F)
  • Associated FBO ramp areas and adjacent ramp/non-movement areas connected to the above taxiways

These taxiways are designated movement areas under PTK/OCIA procedures and are regularly utilized for aircraft taxi operations. Their closure will significantly impact standard taxi routing and access to portions of the airfield.

Aircraft operators should anticipate modified and potentially non-standard taxi routes, limited access to hangar and ramp areas, increased congestion on remaining taxiways, and potential delays, especially during peak operational periods.

Pilots and operators are advised to review all current NOTAMs prior to operating at PTK, monitor ATIS for current construction and taxi routing information, comply with all ATC instructions and hold short clearances, exercise increased vigilance during taxi operations, and request progressive taxi if unfamiliar with revised routing.
