When the volume of air traffic permits the approval of VFR practice instrument approaches, Boston Consolidated TRACON will provide IFR separation between an aircraft executing a practice instrument approach and other participating VFR/IFR aircraft at the airports listed below.

The Air Traffic Controller’s responsibility to provide IFR separation for participating VFR aircraft begins when the clearance is issued for an approach and ends at the missed approach point, unless the published missed approach procedure is specifically requested and approved. The clearance for practice instrument approaches does not relieve the pilot of visual flight rules.
