Addison Tower Letter to Airmen: LTA-ADS-1

Subject: Air Park-Dallas Airport (F69) Proximity to Addison Airport (ADS)

Cancellation: 10/14/2026 1200 (UTC)

In the interest of flight safety, this letter is issued to heighten pilot awareness of the proximity of Air Park-Dallas Airport (F69) to Addison Airport (ADS).

See Attachment 1.

It is imperative that pilots maintain situational awareness when arriving from the north, and landing RWY 16 at ADS. Pilots, familiar and unfamiliar, will often mistake F69 for ADS, and will attempt to land at that airport. F69 is an uncontrolled airport located 3.3nm north of ADS and is inside the ADS Class D airspace. In addition, F69 has the same runway configuration as ADS; RWY 16/34. Although F69’s runway is much smaller than ADS; 3080ft x 30ft at F69 versus 7203 x 100ft at ADS. A good visual reference for pilotage is the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT), which is an 8-lane highway that runs from west to east. F69 is located north of PGBT, and ADS is located south of PGBT. The large highway can be a used as a good visual aid to better distinguish between the airports.
