Further closures due to staffing shortages for Redmond FCT (RDMT) have been announced through the end of September 2024.  Late openings and early closings will be the standard for RDMT, typically working the hours of 0800L-1800L.  RDMT only plans to open normal hours on August 14-16 and August 26-27, please check your NOTAMs for up to date information.

The closures will impact services provided by Seattle ARTCC (ZSE) in the area.  As an uncontrolled airport, ZSE will be reduced to a one-in/one-out operation.  IFR aircraft can expedite sector movement by:

1. Forwarding cancellation of IFR as soon as practicable.
2. Reporting arrival to RDM promptly on frequency.
3. Request airborne clearances on 126.15.
4. Request IFR clearance by calling ZSE clearance delivery at 253-351-3694.
5. Aircraft that receive a “Call for Release” time be aware that ZSE will release your aircraft within a window 2 minutes before to 1 minute after the release time.
6. Advise ZSE when number one for departure and ready to take the runway to get released.

During times of tower closures, local flight training schools are encouraged to:

1. Practice approaches to other local airports.
2. Practice holding at BOTTL or HERBS rather than DSD.
3. Avoid local pattern work at RDM.

All aircraft should make standard announcements on CTAF during closure.
