Subject: CLASS C VFR TRANSITION ROUTE
Cancellation: 09/06/2025 1200 (UTC)
In an effort to reduce frequency congestion and simplify instructions for VFR aircraft transitioning the Bradley International Airport (KBDL) airspace, a transition route has been developed (see attachment). The "BRADLEY TRANSITION" is an uncharted VFR corridor for VFR traffic to overfly Bradley International Airport from north to south and from south to north by the safest and most expeditious method available. VFR pilots are encouraged to become familiar with and request this transition from ATC as soon as they are in communication with Bradley Tower and/or Yankee Approach Control and be prepared to fly this transition when assigned. VFR aircraft can expect this transition when flying within 1 0NM of KBDL below 4,500 feet MSL. DEFINITION- The "BRADLEY TRANSITION" is defined as a 1/2 NM corridor either side of the BDL RY 6/33 intersection within Bradley Class C airspace. Aircraft will enter the corridor from the north heading 190 degrees and from the south heading 010 degrees. The corridor will begin and end at the 5NM circle of KBDL. Pilots may be asked to offset East or West of BDL RY 6/33 intersection based on traffic at Bradley International Airport. Application of this procedure or any action taken by Air Traffic Control to avoid traffic conflicts does not relieve pilots of their responsibilities to see and avoid other traffic while operating in VFR conditions (CFR 91.113).
