Subject: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) ZILLI Departure Procedure

Cancellation: 05/26/2024 1200 (UTC)

The ZILLI SID is a unique procedure.  It has two enroute transitions that take separate courses after the common route fix (ZILLI), but join back up at IGOTT and end at the same terminating fix (FICKY).  Because both transitions terminate at FICKY, there is potential for misinterpretation when viewed on the FMS.

The FMS coding of the transitions is ZILLI#.BEAUT and ZILLI#.LAUER because there cannot be two FICKY transitions. There are also separate Adapted Departure Routes (ADRs).  These ADRs are active/inactive based on the current activation of W289. The BEAUT transition is used during the activation of W289.

Users filing the ZILLI SID are advised to be especially diligent in their review of this procedure prior to departure.
