To LHD users, Runway 14/32 at Lake Hood will be closed beginning May 2, 2022 (1600Z) through May 26, (2359Z). This closure is necessary to remove and replace 12” of gravel and to make electrical and drainage improvements.

Aircraft requesting to arrive or depart PANC during the LHD closure will be allowed to do so. Transponder and/or ADS-B requirements may be waived IAW FAA procedures (PPR), traffic and workload permitting. Pilots should advise Clearance Delivery on 119.4 (departures) or Anchorage Approach (arrivals) that they are negative transponder and/or negative ADS-B. Arrivals should contact 119.1 arriving from the north and 126.4 arriving from the east/south for arrival instructions.

Pilots should familiarize themselves with the published VFR routes at PANC. When departing PANC, pilots should expect delays based on itinerant IFR traffic congestion and controller workload. Departing aircraft can expect to side-step, as assigned, into LHD's Class D airspace to join LHD's advertised traffic flow (East/West route). Arriving aircraft can expect to be routed via the Midtown Arrival or the MacKenzie Arrival.
