In an effort to reduce frequency congestion and simplify instructions for VFR aircraft transitioning to/from the Millard Airport (MLE) to/from the practice areas West of MLE, unpublished transition routes and practice areas have been developed by Oracle Aviation.

Pilots are encouraged to become familiar with and request these transitions to/from the practice areas with Omaha Approach Control.

The transition routes and practice areas described are not to be interpreted as protected airspace. The description is for mutual understanding of the practice area dimensions. The defined areas are not free from obstructions and it is solely the pilot’s responsibility to comply with 14 CFR 91.119 Minimum Safe Altitudes: General. Application of these procedures or any action taken by Air Traffic Control to avoid conflicts does not relieve pilots of their responsibilities to comply with 14 CFR 91.113 Right-of-way rules.

Outbound routes are as follows:

Depart KMLE direct Lake Zorinsky at or below 2,500’ MSL, thence . . .

for M1 fly at 2,500’ MSL along 168th Street until reaching Bennington Lakes, then fly west on Hwy 36 to the Platte River, then enter M1.  At or below 6,500’ after Bennington Lakes. M1/M3 boundary is Platte River.

for M2 fly at 2,500’ MSL along 168th Street until reaching Bennington Lakes, then climb and enter M2 at or below 4,500’.

for M3 fly at or below 2,500’ directly over Hwy 92/Center St Corridor until Platte River, then at or below 6,500’. Remain following HWY 92 until crossing HWY 77 at Mead, then enter M3.

for M4 fly at or below 2,500’ directly over Hwy 92/Center St corridor until Platte River, then enter M4 at or below 4,500’.

for M5 fly at or below 2,500’ directly over Hwy 92/Center St Corridor until Platte River, then at or below 4,500’. Remain following HWY 92 until crossing HWY 77 at Mead, then enter M5.

for M6 fly at or below 2,500’ directly over Hwy 92/Center St corridor until Platte River, then enter M6 at or below 4,500’. M6 Eastern boundary is Platte River.

Inbound routes:

Fly reverse transition at or above 3000’ until reaching Lake Zorinsky or fly KMLE RNAV12.
