Subject: Voluntary Noise Abatement Procedures

The Essex County Airport Management, in cooperation with airport Fixed Base Operators (FBO)s and Flight Schools, has developed the voluntary noise abatement procedures described below. Participation by pilots is voluntary, but requested as part of maintaining good community relations.

Local Traffic Pattern Operations: Not permitted Monday–Saturday (0400Z–1200Z) and from 0400Z Saturday to 1500Z Sunday.

Rotorcraft: If possible, cross the airport boundary at or above 700 feet MSL.

Fixed–Wing VFR Operations:

RWY 4 DEPTS: Fly RWY heading for one (1) mile, then turn crosswind if remaining in the traffic pattern. If departing the traffic pattern, continue on RWY heading until reaching traffic pattern altitude.

RWY 22 DEPTS: Fly RWY heading until reaching 900 MSL, then turn crosswind if remaining in the traffic pattern. If departing the traffic pattern, continue on RWY heading until reaching traffic pattern altitude

RWY 10 DEPTS: Fly heading 080º at RWY departure end. Upon reaching 900 MSL, turn crosswind if remaining in the traffic pattern. If departing the traffic pattern, continue on heading 080º until reaching traffic pattern altitude.

RWY 28 DEPTS: Fly RWY heading for one (1) mile, then turn crosswind if remaining in the traffic pattern. If departing the traffic pattern, continue on RWY heading until reaching traffic pattern altitude.
