Pontiac Tower Letter to Airmen: LTA-PTK-1
**** Cancelled on 06/12/2020 1812****

Subject: PTK ATCT Limited Operating Hours

Cancellation: 11/03/2020 1200 (UTC)

This letter is to advise Airmen that as of May 3rd, 2020 Pontiac Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) is implementing Limited Operating hours. This action is taken in response to COVID-19 and reduced levels of traffic. PTK ATCT will be open from 0800L to 1600L (1200-2000Z).

During the hours that PTK ATCT is closed the airspace will revert to Class G, the airfield will be considered uncontrolled and pilots will monitor and report activities on Common Traffic Advisory frequency (CTAF) 120.5. Detroit Approach will provide IFR service on frequency 132.35 including clearance delivery (800-499-8181), departure release and approach clearance. IFR aircraft are highly encouraged to cancel IFR with Detroit Approach on 132.35 as soon as practicable.

Runway 9L/27R and Runway 18/36 will be closed daily when the tower is closed.

Vehicle operators should be monitoring CTAF and reporting their activities on all movement areas. Vehicles should give way to all aircraft operations, utilize Route 2 and service roads remaining off the Runway(s) at all times unless operationally necessary.

Any questions regarding this letter can be directed to Pontiac Airport Traffic Control Tower at the above address or by phone at (248) 886-8500.
