Subject: SIMULTANEOUS DEPARTURES AT DFW

DFW ATCT and D10 TRACON personnel are authorized to conduct simultaneous departures from runways 17R, 17C, 18R, 18L, 35L, 35C, 36L and 36R with course divergence beginning no later than 5 miles from the runway end for non-RNAV equipped aircraft and no later than 10 miles from the runway end for RNAV equipped aircraft. These procedures will meet the following conditions and limitations:

The use of parallel runways separated by at least 6,200 feet.

A fully operational radar environment and continuous radar surveillance.

Maintenance of the identity of each aircraft involved.

Notification prior to departure to all concerned aircraft that aircraft are departing from the other runway. This information may be provided through the ATIS.

Runway heading separation will be maintained or increased with no overlapping or touching of primary radar targets.

When either aircraft is not flying an RNAV SID, turns to achieve at least 11 degrees divergence will begin at a point no later than 5 miles from the runway end.

When both aircraft are flying an RNAV SID, turns to achieve at least 11 degrees divergence will begin at a point no later than 10 miles from the runway end.
