Participating VFR aircraft conducting practice instrument approaches at the secondary airports listed below will be provided IFR separation services by Indianapolis Airport Traffic Control Tower (IND ATCT). Unless an aircraft requires additional wake turbulence separation, 500 feet vertical separation may be applied between participating VFR aircraft conducting practice instrument approaches and other IFR or VFR aircraft in lieu of the standard IFR vertical separation requirements. IFR separation begins when the approach clearance is issued. IFR separation services are terminated when the aircraft reaches the final approach fix, is changed to advisory frequency, or the controller advises that radar service is terminated, whichever comes first.

Pilots will be instructed to maintain VFR. This instruction is intended to remind the pilot that even though IND ATCT is providing IFR-type instructions, the pilot is responsible for compliance with the applicable FAR s governing VFR flight.
