Detroit Approach Control

Detroit Approach will, when possible, provide IFR longitudinal separation and/or a minimum of 500 feet verticle separation to VFR aircraft practicing instrument approaches to tower controlled airports within Detroit Approach Control Airspace.  Such separation will begin at the point where the approach clearance becomes effective.  When not possible to do so, or where conditions dictate terminating separation services already being provided, the aircraft will be instructed to maintain VFR and advised that no separation services will be provided.

Aircraft desiring VFR practice instrument approaches to the airports listed below should contact Detroit Approach Control on the appropriate frequency prior to commencing an approach:

Frequency 118.95                   Frequency 127.5                   Frequency 134.3

Ann Arbor (ARB)                     Oakland Co. Intl. (PTK)         Detroit City (DET)

Willow Run (YIP)                                                                Windsor Ontario (YQG)
