Subject: Practice Areas East of Council Bluffs Airport (CBF)

Cancellation: 04/06/2021 1200 (UTC)

In an effort to reduce frequency congestion and simplify instructions for VFR aircraft transitioning to/from the Council Bluffs Airport (CBF) to/from the practice areas East of CBF, unpublished transition routes and practice areas have been developed by Advanced Air, Inc.

Pilots are encouraged to become familiar with and request these transitions to/from the practice areas with Omaha Approach Control.

The transition routes and practice areas described are not to be interpreted as protected airspace.  The description is for mutual understanding of the practice area dimensions.  The defined areas are not free from obstructions and it is solely the pilots responsibility to comply with 14 CFR 91.119 Minimum safe altitudes: General.  Application of these procedures or any action taken by Air Traffic Control to avoid traffic conflicts does not relieve pilots of their responsibilities to comply with 14 CFR 91.113 Right-of-way rules.

The ingress and egress routes are along Highway 92. Outbound to the practice area from KCBF at 3000’ eastbound after contacting departure. Returning to KCBF from the practice area, 2000’ westbound along Highway 92.

The sectors that are north and south of Treynor will be accessed by 300th street.  300th street runs north and south from Treynor. Once the planes reach Treynor along Highway 92, they will turn either north or south to access the area they will be working in. The areas out by Carson will be accessed by continued flight along Highway 92 to Highway 59. Then proceed north or south into those areas.

Returning to KCBF will be the same routes except in reverse and 2000’.
