In an effort to achieve an organized, safe, and controlled operation, Raleigh Tower will provide standard Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) separation services to Visual Flight Rules (VFR) aircraft practicing instrument approaches to the below listed airports.

Pilot requests for practice instrument approaches will be approved by ATC subject to other traffic and workload conditions. A pilot should anticipate that in some instances, the controller might find it necessary to deny approval or withdraw previous approval when traffic conditions warrant. Please be reminded that even though the controller is providing standard IFR separation while on the approach, pilots operating on VFR flight plans are required to comply with basic Visual Flight Rules.

Airborne VFR aircraft requesting practice instrument approaches should first monitor the Raleigh-Durham ATIS (123.8), and then contact Raleigh Approach as follows:
