Subject: VFR PRACTICE INSTRUMENT APPROACH PROCEDURES

Cancellation: 12/05/2019 1900 (UTC)

VFR aircraft conducting practice instrument approaches at the following airports will be provided standard IFR separation by Miami Approach Control.

Aircraft requesting practice instrument approaches to any of the airports listed below should contact Miami Approach Control on the appropriate frequency:

(PMP)   Pompano Beach Airpark                                           119.7

(FXE)    Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport                            119.7

(FLL)    Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport       133.775

(HWO)  North Perry Airport                                                    128.6

(OPF)    Opa-Locka Executive Airport                                    128.6

(TMB)   Miami Executive Airport                                             125.25

(HST)    Homestead Air Reserve Base                                   125.5

Controller responsibility for separation begins at the point where the approach clearance becomes effective.  Controller responsibility for separation ends at the Missed Approach Point unless the published missed approach is specifically requested and approved.

Aircraft requesting a procedure turn or a holding pattern for training purposes should make that request on initial contact with Miami Approach Control.

This program does not relieve pilots of their responsibility to see and avoid other traffic.  It will enhance safety by providing separation from other VFR aircraft making practice instrument approaches, and from those operating under IFR in the terminal area.
